As many are on edge finding themselves experiencing high levels of stress, hopelessness, grief, unhealthy anger, uncertainty, heightened anxiety, intense fear, various types of trauma etc. it is important to take responsibility for your Well-Being, Mental Health, Growth and/or healing. Oftentimes lack of boundaries and putting oneself last further perpetuate the problem. Some may feel guilty and selfish putting themselves first. It’s also easy to get used to the perpetual pattern of being on the constant go while unresolved/unaddressed issues and challenges ensue. Frequently what is blocked out compartmentalized or ignored only worsens with time even though it may be a means of protection in the moment. Many times the process of growth requires an interruption from our norm of operating and may not come out of comfort and convenience. Nevertheless, the residual impact of neglecting ourselves shows up in our relationships, gets stored in our bodies and manifests in what we are able to produce. Institutions, employers, those who you know, family etc. may not put your needs first, but YOU can. They may or may not deem it as their responsibility but certainly can be yours nevertheless. Taking responsibility for your Well-being, Mental Health, Growth and/or Healing is an act of strength, courage and agency. Furthermore, it is something you are worthy of.
